Emilia Fox

Emilia Fox is an English actress who stars in the role of Dorota in The Pianist.

Born and raised in London 1974, she comes from a thespian family – her mother is actress Joanna David and her father is actor Edward Fox. Other family members have successful acting careers as well, with her uncle being James Fox. She received her education at Bryanston School in Blandford and at the St. Catherine’s College of the University of Oxford, where she read English.

Fox first appeared in 1995 TV series Pride and Prejudice alongside her mother; she played the role of Georgiana, Mr. Darcy’s sister. Later on, other TV appearances followed, such as the adaptation of Rebecca, The Round Tower, Randall and Hopkirk and the two-part television biographical movie about King Henry VIII. Fox also appeared in the part documentary, part drama movie The Queen.

She’s best known for her role as Dr. Nikki Alexander on BBC crime drama Silent Witness, a role she’s been playing since 2004. She has also starred as Morgause in another popular BBC series, Merlin and played a role in Upstairs Downstairs, a historical drama. Fox has also done some voice overs for a few animated movies and DVD editions of children’s books.

Apart from acting, the actress is fluent in German and French and can play several musical instruments. Fox resides in London and has a daughter named Rose, who was born in 2010. The actress is a patron of the environmental and human rights charity Environmental Justice Foundation.
